This small but very useful box has been made to expand the possibilities of the famous Oberheim DMX drum machine. 8 potentiometers for manual adjustment, 8 Control Voltage inputs for external sources. The row of switches chooses between this 2 posibilities.
Put a fast LFO onto the crash or make melodies with the toms. Control the pitch of the snare with an envelope or a sequence. |
Listen to an example with a pitchmodulated crashsound: |

To do your own DMXcontrol time and effort are little. The circuit is super simple. you need 8 potentiometers, I used 50kΩ, 8 switches and 8 sockets (mono). In my case the most difficult thing to solve was the CV input socket on the DMX itself. I could not find the corresponding plug. Therefor I had to make a different connector system. |
As mentioned the circuit is not complex. The +5 Volt you need you can take from a wire bridge close to the internal powersupply. Next to it on the mainboard there is a testfield labelled +5. |
